Preliminary Task

I am going to create a continuity task which will involve filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing through a room, sitting down on a chair, or across another character with whom they exchange a couple of lines of dialogue. This task should portray, Macth on action (An editing technique for continuity editing in which one shot cuts to another shot which shows the action of the subject in the first shot) , Shot/reverse shot (A continuity editing technique used mainly in conversations or two characters simply looking at each other) and the 180-degree rule (A filming guideline that participants in a scene have the same left-right relationship to each other).

What we did:

I was just recently introduced to this programme. To start off with, we used Ferris Buellers day off as an inspiration. We then went out in our groups to record scenes long enough to edit. We then used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit our video and make it look something like the scene in Ferris Buellers day off.

What went well:

Using the software for the first time, It was a little complicated, however, once I learned the basics it was just a case of using the software properly which enabled me to edit my video successfully.

What didn’t go well:

To start off with, I struggled; having not used the software before. However, i got used to using the software andi now know the basics and how to do some simple editing.
